How do I unsubscribe from one section of a Substack?
Some people only want certain sections of a Substack and that's great! Being as 12th House has several sections, paid and free, here I explain the what, and the how of choosing what works for you!
If you’ve been reading the 12th House of Wild weekly posts as they hit your inbox then you have probabaly noticed that they vary in topic, length, and sometimes even style of writing.
Here is a breakdown of what to expect from each (as honest and concisely as I can try and describe them).
12th House of Wild (Every Tuesday):
The Main Content for 12th House of Wild is mostly organzied around personal journals and self-development. Things that I have learned, studied, or been subjected to that felt helpful for me to take in and see a different way. Other times it’s about things that surprised me, and/or toxic things that just feel icky the way they are living currently in the world.
My hope for this space is that sometimes we get so caught up in the routines of our lives that those routines become blinders to variation, learning, and resillience. As great as it can be to not be accosted by confrontation every time we leave the house or engage with our various devices…only reinforcing what we think we know, what we want to see, and sometimes even what our technology algorithms decide will keep us engaged and happy in our current world view and using their products (thanks cookies and customized Ads and the like) can be harmful.
It lowers our tolerance for being uncomfortable, it virtually eliminates opportunity for critical thinking, and I genuinely believe our creativity gets stifled long term because what is creativity but resourcefulness, communication, and problem solving?
If we lose our autonomy of choice in the world around us, what do we really have that is all our own?
Ode to Imagining (Every other Friday):
Best put this is a playground for my imagination. It’s hope and humor mostly for anyone still wanting to believe there can be magic and more to life then dying and taxes after 30. Especially if you’re a single, 30-something woman. And even more so if you’re a fan of fantasy, romantasy, or were into that coming of age YA (Young Adult) novels when you were… ya know… coming of age. Like somehow that stopped after our early twenties and suddenly we were “of age” and had it all figured out or something like that.
It’s what I wish existed in the world, real or unicorns. Magic and madness, love at first fated sight, and unapologetic messiness of coloring outside the lines of a societally conditioned life.
Most of what get’s published here are previews for free subscribers, and the full blown beast for paid subscribers ($5/month).
Eventually (because my visionary self can’t help it) I’d like to make a third option for paid book club members (Pages & Portals Subscription) where I send the participating members a book club package once a quarter with the chosen book amongst other goodies and we meet virtually every other week for a quarter (3 months) to nosh on snacks and talk about the book and life — thinking like $15/month kind of thing. I opened the comments on this post so let me know if this is something you’d be interested in. I am open to fiction or non-fiction genres. Let’s open the conversational floor on this!
Monthly Womxn’s Group (Monthly):
» click me » Please look at this PDF to make sure your notifications are ON for this section.
Is literally exactly this, in it’s current form as of (Feb 2024) it’s only in-person because ya girl is a little nervous no one will come if I open it virtually. lol Silly little small voices and stories, I know, I know. We are all walking eachother home as Ram Dass so poignantly puts it and I am no exception.
Anyway, if you’re interested in a Monthly Virtual Meetup structured like the in-person one you can find the info on what we do at each meeting here: https://www.meetup.com/12th-house-of-wild/
Please let me know so I can get out of my own way and make it happen online. But seriously. I have a full blown goal for 2024 to make my community business mobile (hello vanlife) and I would love to host online spaces. They say “if you build it, they will come” but I’m just not there yet. lol
If you join the group, I will continue hosting them in-person in other various cities I want to frequent also (Portland, Denver, Boise, Salt Lake City, Baja, Ventura, etc) So keep this section engaged if you want to receieve that info. *you won’t be spammed because this group only gathers once a month so at most you’ll receive one extra email a month that may not immediately apply to you, and we both know you already receive far less valuable emails far more often and haven’t unsubscribed from them yet. LOL same.
Okay, lastly, in addition to all that, this is where I will update with posts on what was talked about as far as topics and feedback from the group at the meetings so even when you miss one, you still know what went on and can get the resources or information snippets that we talked about. WHEW! Okay, that’s all for that.
To All The Things That Broke Me (Coming Soon):
This is a space rooted in vulnerability and raw honesty. This is a paid-only section because this is my heart on what feels like a public chopping block (the internet is an equally beautiful and cruel place). This is a space where (hi Mom and Dad - I love your support, it truly means the whole world - but maybe you don’t want to read this section, okay? Love you!) I want to air out grief, brutal heartbreak in all its forms, and all the secrets only kept by my sleepless nights.
The times I didn’t think I would make it through, and the times I wasn’t even sure I wanted to, alongside the brilliance that emerged from the burning and the life that I built from the ashes over and over again. Not for the faint of heart but written for the brave.
LASTLY (thanks for sticking with me!)
She’s Hungry Podcast (Coming Soon) - moving hosts to Substack and we will be good to go!
This is where Manic Monday lives. Which are my public, unhinged rantings of all the things I think about, learn about, and need to close the damn tab on in my ADHD browser of a brain. More on hope, humor, and things that might surprise you to learn.
These are also conversations with people I admire, people who inspire me, people that I deeply love, and people who I regularly learn from. We talk about fear, shame, and the truth of it all that is life is beautiful and hard and often at the same time.
This is where “Because I Wasn’t Invited,” the advice column no one asked for, lives. I am a Projector in Human Design. If you don’t know what that is but would like to know, please look to Lindsey Freeman (my best friend and astrology human design queen) where she will give you a reading and information about yourself that will allow you to never see yourself the same ever again in the best way possible.
Anyway, as a Projector, I see things. It’s one of my superpowers, and paired with the other superpowers I have including being an oracle guide, it’s POTENT when I have something to say to you. Think of it like the Universe wanting to leave you a voicemail. But the catch is, in order to share the voicemail with you, you have to ask for it. A Projector has to wait for the invitation. So there in lies the issue. And it’s not only about asking but it’s being energetically open to receiving what is being communicated.
This is why coaching comes so effortlessly to me, it’s an open INVITATION to guide and support you, and ultimately help you HELP YOURSELF to HEAL aka get out of your own way and create a life you don’t want to hide from.
If you want to hop on a free sesh with me, I always got time in my calendar for ya!
Schedule it here: https://app.hellobonsai.com/s/cait-pearson/first-session
Full stop, it’s a 75-minute complimentary session. No catch. We never have to talk again if you don’t want to hear my voice but only want to read the words, that’s A OKAY with me babe. But don’t be afraid to change your life.
Whereever you are, you are enough, as you are to start where you are and find deep, fulfilling success. And yes, you can do it. Pinky promise.
I have a deep core value that every single person who wants support should have access to it, so there you have my heart on my sleeve.
